Comedy Show to Entertain Young Cancer Patients
Alpine Rocks ~Come Laugh®LLC, based in Alpine, New Jersey, will appear at the Ronald McDonald House of New York as part of a benefit event on Come Laugh® is a comedy-centered instructional organization where students ages 9 to 18 gain self-confidence and life skills through exercises in comedy performance.
Come Laugh® founder Maggie Hess started the program as a way to help young people hone their public speaking skills and develop qualities that are critical for success in school and beyond. “The big, wonderful story for us is being part of the Ronald McDonald House spirit and bringing LOL—lots of love and lots of laughter—to the children,” Ms. Hess said. The performers on September 8th will be stand-up comedian Vicki Ferentinos and improv comedians David Hale and Greg Tuculescu, professional comedians who are also Come Laugh® instructors.
Ronald McDonald House provides low-cost, temporary housing in a supportive environment for pediatric cancer patients and their families during treatment. Many of these families have traveled far from home to reach the best possible medical care, usually in large cities where traditional lodging may not be affordable. Ronald McDonald House of New York is located in Manhattan, near 12 major cancer-treatment facilities, and is the largest such facility in the world.
Come Laugh® is among several businesses that will be donating services and items for the benefit of Ronald McDonald House of New York. Others includeAvon, designer Jose Hess, Salon 5 Spa, Golden Pearl, as well as others, each of which will donate items as gifts for Ronald McDonald House children and their families.
